Othoniel Gonzalez - Photographer

Hi, I'm Otho, originally from TGZ Chiapas, Mexico. I arrived in Puerto Escondido Oaxaca at the age of 4 and started playing around with a GoPro camera, taking photos of my schoolmates, my family (who I probably annoyed, LOL), and then I met a friend named Jaciel who gave me the opportunity to take photos and videos for his tour company's social media—“Eco Adventures”, very well known here in Puerto Escondido. For two years, I kept at it and lost my fear of socializing and, of course, of photographing people from all over the world visiting Puerto through these tours.
Then I met photographer friends who were already well established in social photography, and thanks to them I became known as one of the favorite photographers for couples. These were photographers I admired when I started, and I’ll always admire them for their talent and especially their humility—for once extending their hand and pushing me to be a better photographer.
Over time, I realized this was truly my thing, and I decided to take it more seriously. That’s how I became independent as a local photographer, favored especially by couples visiting from central and northern Mexico. I've shot over 200 engagement sessions (my favorite kind), and thanks to the experience gained, I’ve developed strong planning skills tailored to the client's needs.
Today I focus on creating a beautiful and stress-free experience for couples and families visiting this charming small city, through my planning and advice.
I love connecting with people through my camera, and as I always say: the camera is the perfect tool to connect with others. I’m passionate about what I do!

A fun fact about me:
In 2025, I’ve decided to limit myself to no more than 15 sessions a month, so that neither I nor my team feel pressure and we can all deliver exceptional work that truly satisfies the client.
